Private Art Lessons

I believe that art lessons, should be tailored to each artist, since every art practice is unique. Below are general subject matter areas where lessons may be concentrated at the request of the learner. These are topics that I feel benefit artists at any stage of their practice.           Private Lessons

Single private lesson:   2.5 hrs….......  $ 50.00     

Five 2.5 hour private   sessions….....  $ 250.00             

         Lessons for Two        

Hourly Rate per person…................. $ 20.00  ea.    

One 2.5 hour lesson per person…...  $ 42.50  ea.    

Five 2.5 hour Sessions….................  $ 212.50  ea.          

1)   Lessons on general Art Elements and Principles of Design:

           •Elements: Color theory, Shape, Line, Texture, Form, Space and Value

           •Principles: Balance, Contrast, Emphasis, Pattern, Unity, Rhythm, & Proportion

2)   Lessons using various painting tools and techniques: Watercolor, Acrylic, Oil, Gilding

           on paper. 

3)   Lessons on business practices for professional artists:

           •Professional art practice: marketing, finance, presentation of your work, image data

            management, finding exhibits, artist resources and managing gallery expectations.

Scheduling is arranged with art leaners for lesson/instruction times that are mutually convenient for the learner and instructor. Art lessons can be for as short as one hour, but creative sessions are most productive in 2.5 hour intervals as time should be allowed for setup, discussion, practice and clean-up.
