Mission of the Gallery:
Artist Anita Loomis established Loomis Gallery, LLC in 2020. The gallery is a for profit business, located at 121 Dennett Rd., Kittery, ME 03904, which occupies approximately 400 square feet of original gallery and studio space. Loomis Gallery is committed to providing a venue for professional regional artists that reflects a diverse sampling of original work on a rotating basis. The mission of her gallery has three objectives.
About the Director, Anita Loomis:
Founder of Loomis Gallery, Anita Loomis, is an accomplished professional artist who also has many years of experience working in professional art establishments, as an accomplished professional artist in her own right, and in public service administration and education. Details of her professional qualifications can be found by viewing her CV located on her studio’s website, www.anitaloomis.com. Loomis Gallery was established during Covid-19, a time when many assessed their life’s priorities and accomplishments, their own mortality and their values. For Anita, it was time to move closer to her children and open the gallery and studio that her life’s work has prepared her for. Leaving her art teaching position in Massachusetts, she and her husband, Paul, moved to Maine and established the small gallery in Kittery. She describes the gallery as “mini but mighty”, making the most of available resources to provide a space that offers a variety of high quality contemporary art as well as art education experiences. Starting a venture during a pandemic is challenging, but Anita has never shied away from a challenge. She looks forward to sharing her love and appreciation of visual art and craftsmanship with others.

We can remove that anxiety by offering a full refund for artwork purchased. Artist Submissions
Submissions are not currently being accepted. Please email Anita with any questions about art in the gallery. Our plans for 2023 are evolving.
One objective of the gallery's mission is to support regional artists by offering their work for exhibit and sale. Our gallery space is limited, but artwork is expected to rotate rather quickly. At this time, we are actively accepting art submittals from emerging and mid-career artists. Currently, we can only consider traditional 2D & 3D work, no greater than 36" in any direction. We can not consider video, film or installation pieces. Please keep in mind that all artwork in the gallery must be for sale. Please allow 4 weeks for a response.
To submit your artwork for consideration please email the following to anita@loomisgallery.com with the subject title SUBMITTALS-Your Name:
